LlaMa 2: Meta’s ChatGPT Rival Is Available For Everyone

Meta has recently launched its AI-powered chatbot, Llama 2 which is public and available for everyone in competition with ChatGPT. 

On July 18, announced by the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg that they are partnering with Microsoft to launch an updated generative AI large language model named, Llama 2. This technology is free for research and commercial use. 

The launch of this Artificial language model is different from its other rivals in a way that it will be an open source to the public, that is the codes and data used behind Llama 2 are freely available for commercial use. This open-source nature could push the developers to lead to the advancement in AI and technology. 

“Open source drives innovation because it enables many more developers to build with new technology,” Zuckerberg said. He also added, “It also improves safety and security because when software is open, more people can scrutinize it to identify and fix potential issues. I believe it would unlock more progress if the ecosystem were more open, which is why we’re open-sourcing Llama 2.”

Llama can be downloaded and used directly from the website llama2.ai or from the Microsoft cloud platform Azure. This software is also available on Amazon Web Services and Hugging Face.

This is s a free service for all with business purposes and other commercial use unlike other big names, OpenAI and Google which offer these services at a cost price. 

This bold step taken by Mark Zuckerberg to launch AI services free for businesses will have a deep impact on the progress and development of the Artificial intelligence industry. It will be exciting what wonders this AI model can bring to the AI world.
